KUCRL Welcomes New Director of Professional Development!

Mike Hock

KUCRL Director, Dr. Mike Hock, welcomes new Director of Professional Development

Meet new KUCRL Director of Professional Development, Jocelyn Washburn

Jocelyn Washburn is the new Director of Professional Development at the University of Kansas Center for Research on Learning.  Jocelyn Washburn comes to the role of Director  with many years of SIM leadership in Virginia, and a strong vision for conducting research to support SIM in the future.  Jocelyn's vision for the SIM Network includes evaluating how teachers learn about SIM and exploring more local, state, and national inititatives.  She is a collaborative leader, and she looks forward to working with the SIM Network, administrators, philanthropies, state departments of education and others to create new partnerships and access to SIM for all learners.

Former Director, Patty Graner, retired from the KUCRL in March.  Dr. Graner was a wonderful advocate for the SIM Network and was passionate about sharing her deep knowledge of SIM to impact the way teachers teach and students learn. She leaves a leadership legacy that will be hard to follow, but she will continue to contribute and engage with SIM in Florida. With a leadership change, there is opportunity to continue this strong foundation and explore new ideas to make SIM even stronger.

KUCRL warmly welcomes Jocelyn to her new role!
