Delivering Online SIM™ Professional Development Webinar
Attention SIM Professional Developers! Will you be delivering SIM Professional Development online this summer? Would you like to learn alongside your fellow SIM Professional Developers how to enhance your skills in providing professional learning experiences for teachers in a virtual environment?
On May 29th from 11:30-1:00 CST, researchers from three KUCRL research teams will collaborate to engage participants in a conversation about how to maintain high quality professional development standards in an online setting.
- Pattie Noonan, co-director of the Research Collaboration, will share an updated version of the much-used and appreciated Observation Checklist for High Quality Professional Development (Gaumer Erickson, A.S., Noonan, P.M., Ault, M., Monroe, K., & Brussow, J. - Irma Brasseur-Hock, co-director of the Institute for Research on Adolescent Literacy, has been providing online instruction for master level teachers (KU Department of Special Educatio) for several years and will share examples of effective practices to engage participants.
- Jocelyn Washburn, director of the Professional Development Research Institute (CRL’s home of the SIM Network), will share SIM-specific resources to assist professional developers in designing their online sessions and guidance on using digitial SIM materials as well as facilitate Q & A and dialogue on planning PD.
