2024 Northeast (VA) SIM Update Conference

This conference is for SIM Professional Developers, Apprentices, Specialists, and their invited Guests.

Save the Date: October 2024

The SIM Update conference, hosted by the Virginia SIM Network and KUCRL, is an opportunity for SIM Professional Developers in Virginia and neighboring states to update their knowledge and skills to support their work as certified SIM Professional Developers. The conference will be a hybrid of asynchronous learning on Canvas before an in-person day at James Madison University in Harrisonburg, VA (Date to be announced later. Before registering, please be aware that you will need to to attend the in-person day to receive conference attendance credit.)

The theme for the conference will be specially designed instruction (SDI) and high-leverage practices (HLPs) for students with disabilities. We will explore in-depth how SIM Learning Strategies, Content Enhancement Routines, and KUCRL reading programs make SDI and HLPs actionable and tangible in the classroom. We are also excited to coordinate several interactive sessions to take advantage of the in-person opportunity at JMU. We will reunite as a network, catch up, and enjoy each other’s presence.
